Update from the Ashram
I’ve been here just over a week and it feels like months and months. This place is absolutely stunning. Rolling hills, palm trees, exotic birds calls, banana, avocado, pecan trees scatter the property, and the air smells like jasmine every morning. Wallabies, snakes, spiders, and a peacock too! The environment itself is strange, magical, scary, happy, and absolutely incredible all rolled into one. I am learning SO much about gardening, plants, people, meditation, and living off the land – I feel like I’m getting a full education here.
We spend so much of our life and formal education learning about the external world, but we have never been taught how to look into our inner world. I believe I am getting a solid “self-education” here as well.
At the same time, this place is fucking extreme!!! I do not think I am in the right frame of mind to commit to the lifestyle 100%, but this has certainly been a life altering experience!
